Today, McCormick is a household name with its familiar green gold and white packaging. With an impressive array of herbs, spices and seasoning, McCormick widened its range of convenient and innovative products that turn meals into quick and easy but unforgettable dishes.

And speaking of unforgettable dishes, here’s a secret that I want to share to you. It’s my favorite grilled dish that I usually prepared for my family during weekends. Weekends is a special occasions for me, for it’s that time of the week when all my children are at home( FYI, I have 5 kids but 2 of them stay in Manila near their school in UST; the other 2 stays in Mt. Makiling Los Banos where Phil. High School for the Arts is located , that’s the price I  have to pay to have four talented performing artist children). Well enough of that, as I said ; weekend is a special occasion and special dishes should be served. My children need the stamina and energy to face the week ahead and for that I always prepared their favorite grilled pork chops for lunch. Others may see it as just an ordinary meat but with the right premium quality spices seasoning, I never go wrong . For the ultimate flavor, my secret spices and herbs make my food taste great. Well I know you know what my secret is. And you are probably aware of how it helps us eat healthier by cutting down on seasoning that bad for our health.

Okey you got me,  my ordinary grilled pork chop become extra ordinary with McCormick Spices . McCormick range of spices, guaranteed to bring every meal to life and lifts every taste bud to delight.
My grilled pork chop consists mainly of the pork meat and my McCormick Rosemary. I just sprinkle some rosemary over barbecue coals for an aromatic smoky flavor. Rub pork chop with mixture of rosemary, salt and pepper and broil. Rosemary is good when sprinkled on meat before it is roasted. That’s just it , now my secret is out.

And for more good news, I would try to use the new McCormick Hickory Smoked Seasoning Mix , next time I cook
Enjoy steaks the way Americans do with McCormick Hickory Smoked Seasoning Mix.  It gives that sweet, hickory-smoked, hot-off-the-grill flavor to beef, pork or chicken

Happy Grilling  Every Weekend

Raising Pets to Wellness

As cats and dogs step into more advanced life stages, their needs, from basic food to physical activity, will begin to change. Setting expectations and providing best care as they grow older will prove to be a challenge. However, by engaging in the right steps towards age and basic nutrition, the health and wellbeing of every pet can be guaranteed.

With the aim of building on responsible pet ownership in the Philippines, the Well-fed, Well-nurtured campaign of the trade association for U.S. pet food brands, the Pet Food Institute (PFI) and the Veterinary Practitioners Association of the Philippines (VPAP) recently led a lecture on animal aging, nutrition, and proper feeding. Dr. Marco Ripoll, DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), Technical Manager, Animal Science, Inc. and Dr. Menandro Valerio, DVM, Fellow in Canine Medicine, Philippine College of Canine Practitioners (PCCP) shared expert insights with pet owners on administering care for their maturing cats and dogs.

Energizer-OML lighting campaign wins in 48th Anvil Awards

It wasn’t that long ago when I join the campaign for One Million Lights by Energizer. The One Million Lights campaign benefited so many resident around the country and it’s a campaign that played and important role in the lives of many.  This  campaign was notice by and given the most distinguished award giving body.

The Energizer campaign that helped light up the lives of more than 15,000 Filipinos in remote provincial sites without electricity last year won the Merit Award in the recent 48th Anvil Awards organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).

In collaboration with One Million Lights (OML) Philippines, the campaign, called “Spreading Positivenergy: Donation of Energizer Solar-powered Lights”, was recognized for its effectiveness as a publicity initiative, as it drove public awareness about the need to provide adequate and safe lighting solutions to people in off-the-grid communities.

The Energizer Solar-powered lamps, besides being more environmentally friendly, gave local residents savings of between P100 and P300 a month. These also eliminate the hazards attendant to using ineffective and unsafe fuel-based lighting alternatives such as kerosene lamps, candles, firewood, and makeshift gas lamps.

“Being recognized for our efforts by winning the Anvil Award reaffirms the value in what we do,” said Joan Mendoza, brand manager of Energizer Philippines. “We are honored and are inspired to continue in this mission to help more Filipinos benefit from the Positivenergy that we bring.”

Todd Montgomerie, Energizer Philippines managing director, acknowledged the importance of investments in society through corporate social responsibility initiatives. “The Positivenergy campaign has tremendous potential to change paradigms and improve lives,” he said. “This is an act of giving back that will bring dividends to all our stakeholders over the long term, especially including the public that we serve.”

More than 3,000 Energizer solar-powered lights were distributed in six poverty-stricken communities, namely Barangay Puray in Rodriguez, Rizal; Eastern Samar; San Miguel, Catanduanes; Mountain Province; Kalinga-Apayao; and Oriental Mindoro, which included a number of Mangyan communities. Other contributions came from the campaign’s partners and supporters.

Sharing the Anvil Merit Award is Energizer Philippines’ public relations specialist, PRC Inc.
