Energizer and OML Philippines Shed Light on Remote Communities in Rizal



While others complain how high their electric expenses are, there are others who don’t know what an electrical bill looks like. The reason for this, even though they are considered living in the city proper; no means of electrical power is provided for them. For this reason, Energizer Philippines together with One Million Lights Philippines (OML PH) recently launched a community service. 

In its continuing efforts to provide valuable energy to Filipino families, Energizer Philippines again reached out to provide the life giving gift of light. Together with One Million Lights Philippines, the company recently distributed solar powered LED flashlights to rural communities on San Rafael, Rizal.




According to Department of Energy, around 15 million Filipinos from more than 2,274 barangay have no access to electricity. This means that thousand of communities across the country still rely on crude light sources like kerosene, lamps, firewood and candles, whose pose risks on personal health and environment.
By donating 300 Energizer LED lights to families in Baranggay San Rafael, around 2000 off the grid individual will benefit fro safe, healthy, and efficient light sources. This partnership is an around the globe to raise awareness fro the need for clean and healthy lighting I communities without access to electricity. It’s a global celebration of the Energizer platform call that’s Positivenergy, which combines performance plus responsibility and demonstrates Energizers long standing commitment to responsible power and serving the community

From 2011 to present, Energizer has already donated 23 million hours of solar light to rural communities around the world, including countries like Argentina, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Philippines. This year, Energizer is pledging to deliver 13 million hours more. The donations are made in form of solar powered LED lanterns and bulbs. These enable children to study at night and adult to extend their workday, all while helping to improve household health and safety.
Through the partnership, Energizer and OML aims to solve this issue one community at a time by distributing rechargeable, eco- friendly, solar powered lights to thousand of Filipinos around the country.

  2. How can LED lights help you in your savings? simply because it lessen your electricity bills. It is also better to use LED lights so in this way we are saving our environment than using those environment-harmful lights. It is a goon news that people are aware of this.
