Love Me Exhibit

My son is a grade 5 student in Ateneo De Manila University Grade School and last Dec. 1 I received a letter from them.

The letter was an invitation for us parent to attend the opening ceremony of 2011 Children’s Biennial Art Exhibition of PAEA (Philippine Art Educators’ Association) entitled “LOVE ME.

The exhibit was held at the 2nd-4th flr of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The Exhibit runs until January 1, 2012

Several schools were part of the exhibit; and I’m so proud that the arts work done by son’s group was chosen to be one of the participants.

Congratulation EJ, keep up the good work

You finally found your place under the sun

Mommy’s so proud of you
Love you.

IBM Thanksgiving Dinner

Dec 12, 2012 is a day to give and a day to receive. As IBM invited me to join their  IBM-Med Celebration of Service Yearender and Thanks Giving Dinner. Held at the Enderun College, Mckinley Hills Taguig.
The night started with cooking demonstration from  Chef Thomas Wenger.
With four (4) dishes, we were so excited to try own version of each dish. With an hour to prepare after the demostration, five team were ushered to the cooking area to prepare their competing dish.

Giving all what we knew and team work made us a winning team. With all the sweat and imagination, we finally made it.
Winner of the IBM Centennial Dish

After the delightful menu that was served , the time has finally came for others to receive,as six new Community Impact Grants to support projects that are in line with IBM’s community agenda and local community priorities, in partnership with academic institutions or not-for-profit organization. IBM awarded grants of $10,000 each through the Celebration of Service Grants, under the IBM Community Grants program.

As part of the Celebration of Service, IBM also announced yesterday a partnership with the IT Journalist Association of the Philippines (Cyberpress) to promote and advance the use of computers for young elementary students.  Initial beneficiary schools are Pio Del Pilar Elementary School in Makati City and Diosdado Macapagal Elementary School in Quezon City.  Cyberpress and IBM volunteers led the turn-over and training of the IBM Kidsmart Early Learning Program, held at the Pio Del Pilar Elementary School.
The IBM Community Impact Grants reward an IBM employee’s dedication to community service, with a particular focus this year on projects that apply innovation and professional skills in improving the communities where we live and work.
The 2011 IBM Community Impact Grant recipients include:

De La Salle University’s Operation Big Brother:  This program aims to implement a high quality high school education for selected groups of student in selected high schools in the Division of Schools in Manila. Specifically, it aims to create quality education by providing students with an enhanced curriculum (based on La Salle), and providing all necessary support elements to include: continuous training and development of teachers, provision of learning resources, and a strong values formation component.  The IBM grant will be used to cover the cost of learning resources and student learning materials i.e. full set of books, workbooks, school supplies, and logistics i.e. for teachers and project volunteers involved.
Ayala Foundation’s My Library Project – Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC):  The project is focused on CENTEX Manila, a public elementary school that will be replicated to other community libraries under Ayala Foundation's "My Library" Project.  Through the IBM Grant, IBM volunteers will help develop a system that can feature modules on acquisition, cataloging, circulation, OPAC (Search engine).  Students will find great value in having all the needed information easily accessible with just one click.

Miriam College Southeast Asian Institute for the Deaf’s (MC-SAID) Helping People with Disability project:  The IBM grant will be used to purchase additional PCs for their computer laboratory that will help propagate the internet safety coaching material to more people (adults and students alike) and also enhance their computer classes with more up to date tools.  In addition, the grant will help fund MC SAID outreach activities which are spent with more disadvantaged deaf communities and re-echo Internet Safety Coaching.

Samsung Series 7: Speed and Durability

I’m a mom on the run, take note on the run; not the mom on the go as the regular saying goes. It’s because of the way my life seems to go; I might be here in a minute but somewhere else in a flash.
With so many things to do and attend to, speed is one thing that I only understand. For everything I do, I need to rely on thing that could give me fast and reliable result. That is why when Samsung Series 7 Choros was launch at Time (even the place reflects what Samsung choros stands for) , no one could be happier than me.

Stunning Design meets Smart Usability
The Series 7 CHRONOS has been designed with an eye-catching style to complement its stunning performance. Crafted using modern  brushed-aluminum, the durable casing gives the Series 7 an exclusive, sophisticated look. Thin and compact, the 14” Series 7 weighs just 2.17kg (4.78lbs) and is just 23.9mm thick.

The Series 7 CHRONOS design is not only good-looking, it is also highly intelligent. An automatic sensor ensures the backlit keyboard and LCD are either dimmed or brightened as according to lighting levels.

Samsung has also included two pieces of software designed to improve the user experience. Easy Migration enables simple, guided data migration from the user’s previous PC to their Series 7 using either a USB connection, Wired LAN or WiFi network. Samsung’s Control Center also allows full control over the features on your PC, ensuring the user can manage their device and the way they use it.

The Samsung Series 7  is available nationwide at 59,900.
JP Tuason- Multi-Awarded International Race Car Driver ( Host)

Winner - Female Caterogy ( Fastest Time)
Winner - Male Category ( Fastest Time)

It’s not only the speed of the new Samsung Series 7 Choros that was put into the test but the speed on how fast we could make it to the simulated car race. The adrenalin that I felt that rush to my veins was nothing compared to the speed that I felt when I was actually in the front of steering wheel. I might not have the fastest time at that time but the happiness that I felt to be part of those who tried was a sure winner. Congratulations to the winners

Congratulation Samsung

Mario Maurer for Penshoppe Encore

Who is Mario Maurer?

Well, this is the question that I have in mind when I attended a fashion show by Penshoppe, don’t get me wrong, Maybe I’m just pass that kind of generation.

As I entered the lobby of SMX, I was so amaze of just how long the line of people were there , but then it’s Penshoppe ; so what do you expect. I keep hearing the name of Mario Maurer over and over again.
So who is Mario Maurer, with the loud screaming and practically just screaming, I saw this baby face looking lad with a smile that could melt you heart away. I too found myself mesmerized.
Mario Maurer is the latest endorser of Penshoppe; he’s a 22 yr old lad from Thailand. The hot star who was known for his series and movies like The love of Siam that was released 2007. There’s the Crazy Little Thing Called Love last 2010. That is Mario Maurer
Penshoppe bring back Mario Maurer for an Encore last Dec. 13 due to the overwhelming request of his fans. It’s seemed that the last fashion show venue that was held last October was not enough for his fans to accommodate. Well, I can’t blame them
With that I believe that Mario Maurer is the perfect endorser for Penshoppe.
I also found out that he will be pairing with Erich Gonzales this coming January 2012 for a movie and I know that his fans would be so happy to see him frequently.
Mario Maurer is such a sweet next door boy that everyone would love, with his boyish smile.
I’m a mom who has five teen age daughter who finally find out who Mario Maurer is and happy to say; I too am mesmerized.

Solar Entertainment Select IBM Managed Subscription Services

Media and on-line bloggers witness as Solar Entertainment Selects IBM managed subsciption services contract signing held at the Shangri-la Hotel in Makati.
James Velasquez, Country General Manager, IBM Philippines.
Wilson Tieng, President and CEO, Solar Entertainment.

IBM and Solar Entertainment Corporation, a broadcast media and content provider engaged in free TV broadcasting, cable TV broadcasting, and International film distribution, announced today a managed subscription services agreement that will help Solar achieve its business growth targets in the next few years.

Our partnership with IBM allows us to increase the storage capacity our IT broadcasting operations require to keep both short-term and long-term archives and databases of shows for all our channels. The additional storage equipment ties in with our growth plans as we intend to keep our audiences continuously happy with the variety of shows we line up everyday. Our operations team is also freed up from manually updating and maintaining our databases and we don’t need to worry about technology obsolescence, because IBM manages and supports our storage requirements for the foreseeable future,” said Wilson Tieng, President and CEO, Solar Entertainment.
As part of the agreement, IBM will provide the necessary information technology (IT) infrastructure as the production storage system for Solar Entertainment.  The managed services solution includes the provision of project management and system operation support.

Providing the necessary storage capabilities and helping manage their archiving infrastructure will enable Solar Entertainment to focus on their core business, while taking advantage of exceptional operational efficiencies and cost savings,” said James Velasquez, Country General Manager, IBM Philippines. “IBM is excited to work with Solar Entertainment on this strategic project as they continue to improve and expand their business to provide top notch entertainment for Filipinos.”
